Our termly Ace Day had three of the year groups enjoying off site activities, but the pupils that stayed behind certainly enjoyed the lessons that Dr Martin and the other teachers designed for them. The Year 6's spent the day learning about Son et Lumière, (Sound and Light) through science, language and art. They experimented with light in the Science labs, were introduced to the sounds of French, (including some tricky tongue twisters), gave a presentation on light through video and power point, and entertained the teachers with a rap song on colour, light and art. All of this was done whilst speaking French - quite a challenge, but one that the children all rose to and enjoyed.
Melissa - 'I decided to make a video instead of a Power Point presentation because I thought it would flow better. Stijn made up a dance about the light and sound in French, and I put
that on my video'
Taimur - 'I decided to make a video about light and how it travels through different objects. It was made harder because the lesson was in French!'
