The Greeks take over at St Faith's!
16/03/2012

There was much excitement amongst the Year 3's as they all arrived for school in their Greek costumes. Mrs Walker had invited Lizzie along, from History off the Page, to lead the full day of workshops and activities based around life as an Ancient Greek.  Also involved were the other Year 3 teachers and Mr Luscombe (Jasper's Dad).  The children spent the morning in a Greek market place, visiting different stalls, where they had the chance to try out lots of different things, including making oil out of olives for lamps.  After lunch they had a Greek banquet, complete with food, drink and entertainment.

Sarah - 'I learnt that Atheneans used goblets'

Mary - 'They banished spies from Athens, we had to find out who the spy was'

Alex - 'When we had the feast we had honeycake, feta, apples, figs, olives and pretend wine'

Amelia - 'I learnt that Persia attacked Athens'

Andre - 'I enjoyed making the clay pots'
