Girls Dominate at IAPS Gymnastics Finals
On Saturday 26th November St Faith’s sent three teams to the National IAPS Gymnastics finals at Guildford High school. They represented the school superbly and gave us our best ever results at this National competition with the U10 team 5th out of 16, the U11 team coming 2nd out of 17 (our best ever team performance out of that size of competition) and the U13 team 3rd out of 3.
Due to the girl’s incredible performances St Faith’s was awarded the Highest combined School points Trophy for the first time ever.
Individually we had some amazing results from the following girls:
Nina L 2nd individually
Izzie R 3rd individually and Winner of the Highest Voluntary Vault trophy
Emily H 4th individually
Connie T winner of the Most Artistic Voluntary Floor Trophy
All the girls scores are listed below:
Considering there were 80+ girls in the U11 age group and 70+ girls in the U10’s, these results are phenomenal and the most improved team has to be the U10 who last year came 11th out of 12 as U9’s. With all the teams medalling it was a fantastic day and ones the parents and coaches all enjoyed.
Well done girls and now some work on group sequences and set floors, as some of these could have been sharper.
Huge thanks to Miss McNally, Miss Butler and the parents for their support as ever and our gymnasts are flying high at present, but they cannot afford to slacken off; holding on to these high positions is tougher still.Back to all news
