Goblins First Race of the Season at Luton

There were a number of first’s last Saturday when the Goblins arrived at Luton Sixth Form College for the first race of the year. It was the first race for all the new teams, Rapid Rockets, Antiwaste Wasps and Speedy Gonzales, which is also our new car. It was the first time our school silver minibus had been converted into a car transporter thanks to the maintenance department.

The event was enjoyed by all and the Goblins should be congratulated on their excellent teamwork and behaviour. Their hard work resulted in us being awarded Best Porfolio (now on display in top of Keynes corridor), Best Presented Bodywork – Speedy Gonzales and 1st and 3rd place overall in the Drag Race.

Highlights of the day included a very spirited and action packed drive by Dillon in his sprint race, followed by another entertaining battle between Sam and Dillon in the Sprint semi finale, unfortunately we lost to the eventual winners but we certainly put on a crowd pleasing performance. More photos are available at this link.

Many thanks to the children for how well they represented St Faith’s. Special thanks must also go to the parents who supported the teams during the day and the parents who volunteered to help run the event. Lastly thank you to the St Faith’s staff as without them the activity could not place so many thanks to Mrs Oxborough, Mr Brent, Mr Hasell and Henry Brent our latest Goblin recruit.

We are all looking forward to our next event on Tuesday 5th June at Scottow Goblins 2018.
