Home Learning Programme Exceeds Parents’ Expectations
As we approach a whole month of home learning, we are delighted with how pupils at home and critical worker children at school have settled down and become independent learners, a skill that will be valuable for life. The cohesiveness and strength of the staff team have shone through and the first few weeks have been a great success. Teachers throughout all Year groups have been working with children of critical workers in class whilst live streaming their lesson to homes. Pupils at home engage with a full timetable that includes live lessons, interactive videos made by staff, school assemblies and more.
I wanted to send an email to say an enormous, heartfelt thank you for the fabulous home schooling the children are getting while Covid-19 is still in charge of the world. They are happy, stimulated, interested and engaged which is just wonderful to see. I have no doubt that it has taken a huge amount of work from all concerned to be able to deliver this programme and we are extremely grateful! – St Faith’s Parent
Weekly videos made by our sports teachers challenges pupils at home with physical tasks that improve their hockey stick movement, netball catching skills, athletic stretches, etc. while also motivating children to stay active and focused at home. Pre Prep pupils (and teachers!) begin their school days with an active start which is a great way to wake up minds and bodies, preparing everyone for quality teaching and learning. School assemblies bring every pupil and staff member together, for a chance to look back at the work achieved but also to stay positive for the future.
We wanted to congratulate you all on miraculously achieving a total shift in the school set up within 36 hours of Boris Johnson’s announcement on Monday evening ready for Wednesday morning’s start to term. I was so relieved to come home from the hospital on Wednesday evening to find my children bouncing up and down with excitement about their first day back at school and how good it had been. We are so impressed that you have each class running live involving those in the keyworker provision and at home – St Faith’s Parent
A full timetable of live lessons takes place for every pupil, every day. Teachers are continuously finding new methods to keep children engaged while they are in the same working environment, and all pupils are attending lessons performing the best they can while away from school. Our new home learning video provides a snapshot of St Faith’s virtual education over the past month.
