IAPS National Swimming Finals

Saturday 7th May saw the culmination of the 2015-2016 IAPS Swimming event. The Nationals Finals took place at K2 in Crawley.

More than 4000 children from 400 schools competed in the 30 Qualifying round Galas in February and 2400 children from 388 schools qualified for the Finals. IAPS currently has 670 schools in its membership so when you look at the statistics from this event, more than half of our membership compete in the Swimming event!

This is an astounding level of participation and therefore wonderful to be able to report that 3 pupils qualified from St Faith’s and one of those three made it through the heats to the final swim- off of the competition in his event.

Congratulations to Amelia S for finishing 14th in Under 11 breaststroke and to Emily H for finishing 12th in Under 10 backstroke. Special congratulations must go to Alex C who swam a personal best time of 33.07 seconds, finishing in 4th place in the Under 13 50 meters backstroke.
