Lt Col Dominic Spencer

Lt Col Dominic Spencer

Following my time at St Faith’s I went to The Leys where I ended up Head of East House (as had my brother Damian) and Captain of Cricket.

I then joined the army, commissioning into the Royal Welch Fusiliers. This was, in part, due to my mother’s passion to consistently promote our Welsh heritage. It seemed to pay off!

I’ve stayed in the armed ever since, living in as diverse countries as Canada, Cyprus, Germany and Northern Ireland. I have also completed operational deployments to Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Mali. Recently I have moved to Dhaka, Bangladesh where I first studied for a year to gain a masters in Development and Security Strategy, before taking over as the Defence Advisor in the British High Commission. I’ll finish 4 and a half years in Dhaka in July 2019 – who knows where I’ll end up next!
