Pupils Recognised by Rotary Young Writers

Six St Faith’s pupils were recognised for their writing skills by the Rotary Club of South Cambridge recently. Children were asked to write or type a story, either fiction, non-fiction, story or poem on the theme ‘My Inspiration’. The theme is deliberately brief to allow the children a great degree of independence in what and how they produce their work.

Mya in Year 7 won the Senior section, while Natalie and Charlotte were placed 3rd and 4th respectively. Further congratulations also to Charlie (2nd), Tanisha (3rd) and Archie (5th) in the Junior section.

Mrs Greaves, Head of English, was delighted with the results which reflect the variety and rigour of our English curriculum at St Faith’s.

Mrs Hallsworth, the Co-ordinator of the Young Writer Competition for Rotary Club South Cambridgeshire, visited school in the last week of term to present the winners and runners up with their certificates. Very well done indeed to everyone involved.
