Year 7 Book Review
Our Year 7 book review panel has recently been in session, as part of this year’s Royal Society Young Peoples Book Prize. Eight pupils will be reading six different books in their own time, aimed at encouraging a love for learning about science and a further understanding of analytical reading. Across the country, other schools will also be taking part in reviewing the same books, including Jake’s Bones, Night Sky Watcher and Utterly Amazing Science, with the winner being announced in November.
Tom K said, ‘I thoroughly enjoyed 365 Science Activities because it was easy to use and I actually tried some of the experiments at home; they were very easy and so much fun!’, whilst Hermoine R remarked of Night Sky Watcher, ‘The illustrations were eye-catching – large and colourful, and the drawings illustrated the text.’ Mrs Price was pleased to see the pupils’ engagement with the selection of books, leaving things nicely in place for the next congregation of the panel.
