St Faith’s awarded the Schools Allergy Register trust mark

St Faith’s are proud to share that they have earned the Schools Allergy Register trust mark.

This award highlights our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for pupils with allergies.

Headmaster, Dr Crispin Hyde-Dunn said “At St. Faith’s, we prioritise wellbeing throughout the school. Ensuring our pupils feel safe and doing all we can to protect those who have allergies, is crucially important and reassuring for pupils, parents, governors, and staff. The Allergy Team’s advice is to ‘exclude the allergen, never the child’ and by joining the Allergy Register, St Faith’s is committed to delivering assurance of allergen control for all our stakeholders.”

To receive the trust mark St Faith’s have shown they have followed the Schools Allergy Code and implemented the following:

  • Allergy and anaphylaxis training for all members of staff
  • An anaphylaxis drill to practice emergency response
  • A comprehensive Allergy and Anaphylaxis Policy, and other robust procedures
  • Fostered a school-wide allergy awareness and understanding
  • Appointed a designated allergy lead and put in place clear governance and reporting structures

David Chalk, Project Manager, added: “As well as providing us with many of the tools to implement policies and join the Allergy Register, with particular thanks to Jen, The Allergy Team have been incredible as a sounding board, providing advice where we have developed unique in-house initiatives. This has helped our Allergy Committee, made up largely of the Senior Management Team, keep momentum beyond the Register and maintain focus on the important matter of allergies throughout the school and its activities. It feels like every email, phone call and virtual meeting has improved my personal understanding of allergy management and has consequently made us a safer school for everyone.”
