Enrichment & Extra Curricular

Our programme for pupils in Years 3-8, of Academic Extension Days (AcE Days) and Enrichment Week (E-Week) forms an important aspect of our ambitious and rounded education. All pupils in Years 3 to 8 take part in our enrichment programme, which encompasses up to eight off-timetable days a year. The core aims of the enrichment programme are to:

  • Enable pupils to extend and deepen their understanding of a wide range of concepts within and beyond the set curriculum
  • Enable pupils to make links between the skills and topics learnt in different curriculum areas
  • Nurture pupils’ talents that have already been identified
  • Provide pupils with opportunities for new experiences, including cultural experiences, and understanding
  • Develop pupils’ interpersonal, communication, teamwork and leadership skills
  • Provide pupils with opportunities to connect with the local area as well as to visit places of interest further afield

Enrichment activities embrace a broad spectrum and vary from year to year. Pupils enthusiastically throw themselves into these days where they take part in activities and challenges that are different to their normal everyday school routine.
