St Faith’s Launches Preschool (Age 3+)
We are thrilled to announce the launch of St Faith’s Preschool, which welcomed its first children on Tuesday, 4th November 2025. This exciting new addition to our Early Years provision has been created in response to parent demand and offers the perfect start to school life for children aged three and above – rooted in connection, curiosity and calm.
Why Choose St Faith’s Preschool?
- A Calming, Thoughtfully Designed Space: Gentle lighting, natural textures and clearly defined learning zones create a safe, settled environment where children feel ready to explore and thrive. Inspired by therapeutic principles, our classrooms reduce sensory ‘noise’ and support emotional wellbeing.
- Small Class Size: Every child receives individual attention and is truly known and valued.
- Play-Based, Purposeful Learning: Our curriculum is rooted in high-quality play, where exploration and creativity lead the way. Skilled practitioners join children in their discoveries – building, painting, storytelling, and problem-solving – to nurture curiosity and confidence. Small-group learning, with early Phonics and Maths aligned to Reception, ensures a smooth, confident transition.
- Outdoor Exploration & Forest School: Children benefit from our exceptional outdoor classroom, shared only with Reception. Daily outdoor learning and regular Forest School sessions build creativity, resilience and a deep connection to nature.
Meet Our Team
Our Preschool Teacher, Miss Annabelle Harder, is an experienced EYFS teacher and Forest School trained, leading our much-loved Wild Place provision. She is supported by Mrs Rebecca O’Hanlon, a full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant. Together, they create a welcoming environment where curiosity and confidence flourish and every child feels valued and inspired to learn.
The Preschool is overseen by Mrs Louise Wakefield, Head of Pre Prep, and Mrs Victoria Harmsworth, Head of Early Years, who are proud to extend St Faith’s outstanding and inclusive Early Years provision.
Dr Crispin Hyde-Dunn, Headmaster of St Faith’s, comments, “The introduction of our Preschool, with its focus on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, represents an appealing and exciting expansion of the educational provision at St Faith’s.”
