Admissions
Reception
There are currently two classes in Reception at St Faith’s.
We encourage prospective parents to visit our school before applying. This allows you to see the school in action and feel confident that it is the right environment for your child. Individual tours and visits can be arranged with our Admissions Team.
We also host ‘Pop-in & Play’ dates, where parents can bring their little ones, siblings, friends, and family members for an hour of play in one of our Reception classrooms and outdoor space. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to meet our Early Years Team and ask any questions you may have. Our next ‘Pop-in & Play’ dates are in 2026.
Register for a ‘Pop-in & Play’ session
A Pre Prep Open Morning is held in April each year.
On receipt of a completed application, and payment of the £120 registration fee, your child will be invited to a Reception Observation session in small groups with others of a similar age.
What happens during a Reception Observation session?
We are aware some young children may be anxious going into a new environment and this is natural. Our friendly staff are experienced in supporting children to settle and we do all we can to ensure that every child can enjoy their visit. Just like a day at nursery, there will be a range of activities on offer and staff will engage with the children as they play and explore. Parents will be offered refreshments while they wait in another area of the school.
How does ‘Pop-in & Play’ differ from a Reception Observation session?
Parents remain with the children while they play, meet others and our Early Years Team. It’s a small taster of the environment that a Reception Observation would take place in, without their parent, once an application was made.
Important dates:
If your child was born between September 2021 – August 2022, we have places available for Preschool (3+), January 2026 entry, and Reception, September 2026 entry. Contact us now.
What happens next?
We will write to everyone with a decision within two weeks of attending a Reception Observation session. Please note that where an offer is made, the place will not be guaranteed until the £500 deposit payment is received.
If you would like to apply for a place at St Faith’s, please visit our admissions portal by clicking on the ‘Apply Online’ button. Please note that for children attending nursery, or a pre-school elsewhere, we also require a copy of their latest report and a reference from their current setting before making an offer.
