January Assessments

Year 1 – 3: Arrival 8:30 AM, depart 12:30 PM
Year 4 – 7: Arrival 8:30 AM, depart 13:20 PM
We warmly invite children who have applied for entry into Year 1–7 in September 2026, to join us for our January Assessment Morning at St Faith’s. This event offers a relaxed and engaging opportunity for us to get to know each child and assess their readiness to thrive in our learning environment.
What to Expect
Children will spend time in our school environment, meet staff and pupils, and enjoy a delicious lunch in our dining hall (provided by the school). Our pupils are excited to welcome their potential future classmates.
Year 1 Applicants
Children applying for Year 1 will be assessed by the Head or Deputy Head of Pre Prep, or our Head of Early Years. They will spend some time in the school environment so we can assess their approach to learning and readiness to benefit from the education we offer at St Faith’s.
Year 2–7 Applicants
Children applying for Year 2–7 will complete a series of assessments designed to be age-appropriate and engaging. These include:
- English
- Mathematics
- Verbal Reasoning
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
- A short writing task
Year 2 & 3
Assessments for these year groups are primarily multiple-choice, with occasional questions requiring a typed or written word or number. There is no extended typing required, so typing ability will not affect results.
Adaptive Assessments
Any online assessments we use are adaptive, meaning the difficulty of questions adjusts based on your child’s responses. This ensures a tailored experience that reflects each child’s individual level.

Year 6 & 7 – Science Assessment
Children applying for Year 6 and 7 will also complete a Science paper. This is designed to gauge current knowledge and identify areas where we may offer support. It is not a deciding factor in our admissions process.
