Prefects, Buddies & House Captains

Every child in Year 8 is appointed as a Prefect. This is because we believe that each pupil deserves the opportunity to learn leadership skills and benefit from the responsibility. They act as role models to the younger pupils and have specific responsibilities and duties to undertake, for example Prefect Duty. They create and lead Buddy sessions with the younger children from Year 3 upwards and can be invited to take on a mentoring role.

Sometimes the Year 8 Prefects can be seen playing in the Pre Prep playground, or reading to the very youngest pupils. In the summer term they help the Year 2s learn how to tie their ties in anticipation of moving into Year 3.
As the best ambassadors for what a St Faith’s education means, Year 8 Prefects are selected to conduct tours with prospective parents at Open Morning events.

Year 8 pupils who display excellent qualities and stand out in their roles as Prefects and Buddies, may be appointed as House Captains.

St Faith's Stories

I have attended two tours, and both times the children taking the tour were charming, happy and well rounded individuals - the kind of children I hope to raise.
