Rewards

Teachers use a variety of rewards in class to encourage children and celebrate achievements and progress. In the Pre Prep, children are awarded learning habit stickers, Star of the Week and Being Our Best Selves certificates, Privilege and Team Time.

Children in Years 3 to 8 are awarded Certificates of Merit for consistently displaying learning habits and ‘Being our Best Selves’ qualities in lessons. Subject Commendations are awarded for consistently excellent performance. Headmaster’s Commendations are awarded for the demonstration of excellent learning habits or outstanding progress. The Headmaster also awards weekly Kindness Certificates to pupils who have displayed acts of kindness towards fellow pupils or adults.

Pupils in Year 7 and 8 can receive Colours for consistently excellent performance in a subject or for outstanding service to their House or the School. These Colours are presented by the Headmaster at end-of-term Colours Assemblies. Silver and Gold badges are awarded for four and eight Colours respectively.

A wide range of prizes are awarded at the annual Speech Day ceremony at the end of the Summer term. Prizes are awarded to recognise exceptional performance in each year group from Year 1 upwards, and for specific areas of strength and success in Year 8.
