Welcome to St Faith's

St Faith’s is an independent school for girls and boys aged 4-13 years where we believe that each child is uniquely gifted. Through our distinctively future-focused curriculum, outstanding facilities and inspiring teachers, we value each pupil as an individual and provide them with the skills and mental resilience to succeed in whatever path they choose to take.

Why St Faith's?

A genuine focus on each individual child

We believe every child is uniquely gifted. The size and ethos of our school enables us to first discover a child’s talents and then make the most of them. It is an exciting journey for the children and hugely rewarding for us to see them develop into happy and rounded young adults.

Outstanding record for senior school placements and scholarships

In 2023 38 scholarships were offered to Year 8 pupils. Furthermore, in the last five years an average of 90% Year 8 leavers gained a place at their first choice school. with an average of 29 scholarships awarded annually.
Pupils move on to a wide range of senior schools: approximately half move to The Leys with the others moving to The Perse Upper, King’s Ely, St Mary’s and boarding schools such as Uppingham, Eton, Harrow, Rugby, Framlingham College, Haileybury, Gresham’s, Oakham, Bedford, Culford and high performing state maintained schools in Cambridge.

Innovative and future-focused curriculum

In 2015 we became the first UK Prep school to introduce Engineering as a core curriculum subject for children from age 7. The government has designated St Faith’s as a lead school for Computing. Thanks to our Computing curriculum, pupils leave St Faith’s highly skilled in a number of sophisticated programming languages. Spanish is our first foreign language and is introduced in the Foundation year (other languages taught include Latin and French as well as Mandarin, Arabic and German in our Year 8 language carousel).
Sustainability is a key theme across the school and we offer bus services from Royston and Saffron Walden (am and pm), as well as Madingley Park and Ride (am only).
We continually adapt to ensure that our curriculum is at the leading edge of education and prepares our pupils for the future.

Development of Learning Habits

Ambition, Independence, Curiosity, Collaboration, Creativity, Listening, Reflection and Resilience.

At St Faith’s we have identified 8 key characteristics that underpin effective learning. These Learning Habits are embedded across the curriculum, informing pupils how to learn and equipping them with the skills they need to be successful both now and in the future.
