St Faith’s actively promotes healthy eating and all children are expected to have a School lunch, the cost of which is included in the School fee.
Our excellent Catering team work hard to ensure our menus are varied, balanced and include lots of options. In addition to the main meal, a vegetarian option, jacket potatoes, rolls, salad, fresh fruit and yoghurt and a hot pudding are available each day.
Menus are based on a three-week rotational plan, changing each term to reflect seasonal variations in produce. Sample menus include:
The majority of the food served is home-made by our Head Chef and his team and most is made at school from fresh ingredients. The children are encouraged to choose a balanced meal from the dishes on offer and the daily menu is published on a notice board outside the servery. Children are welcome to sample a tea-spoon of a dish before choosing it as a way of expanding young palates.
Our Catering Manager, ensures that all the food available is of a high standard and its nutritional content is carefully monitored. Special meals, using specific ingredients, are prepared for those children who have medically prescribed dietary requirements and one member of staff in our dining room is dedicated solely to managing dietary needs such as intolerances and allergies.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Breakfast service is suspended. Further information will be shared directly with parents.
Breakfast is available to purchase from 07:20 each morning and is a popular start to the day. Many parents enjoy a relaxed breakfast with their children and our dining room is a buzz as parents often use the time to catch up or to get to know other parents as well.
