Pupils’ Learning Habits

Development of Learning Habits

Ambition, Independence, Curiosity, Collaboration, Creativity, Listening, Reflection and Resilience.

At St Faith’s we have identified 8 key characteristics that underpin effective learning. These Learning Habits are embedded across the curriculum, informing pupils how to learn and equipping them with the skills they need to be successful both now and in the future.

Like a stick of rock, our 8 Learning Habits run through the whole school, from Pre Prep to Year 8. As pupils progress through the school they are guided to display each habit with greater levels of sophistication and fluency. In this way our Learning Habits provide a coherent and ambitious framework for teaching and learning. (Click to enlarge table)

A pupil in Year 7 reflected, ‘If you are putting the learning habits into practice it creates a really positive mindset and a good learning atmosphere’. – ISI Inspection Report 2021
