Parents’ Association

St Faith’s Parents’ Association (SFPA)

Parental involvement is a strong characteristic of St Faith’s and the SFPA is a thriving association. The SFPA committee comprises a group of parents, the Headmaster, the Bursar and two members of the teaching staff. The purpose of the SFPA is to organise social events for parents at the school. Our aim is to run at least one event each term and try to plan a varied programme appealing to as many parents as possible.

Events aim to encourage all parents to enjoy their association with the school. Past events have been excellent both in content and value. Recently the programme has included a Wine Tasting Evening, Christmas Fair, Fireworks Display, disco for the children and String Orienteering event for Foundation families. In July we organise the highly successful St Faith’s Summer Ball either in a marquee on the School site or in one of Cambridge University’s College Dining Halls.

The SFPA aims to ensure that activities are good value for money, cover their costs and, where possible, raise some funds for special equipment for the School that could not otherwise be provided. Most recently funds have provided rowing oars, adventure playgrounds, tree carving in the Pre Prep playground, outside table tennis tables, climbing equipment for the children’s play areas, steel pans for the band and a Compustitch machine which embroiders fabrics to designs worked out on computer software by the children.

The SFPA depends on the valuable help of parent and staff volunteers both during the events and with preparation beforehand, while encouraging as many participants as possible.
