Leadership and Responsibilities

From the Pre Prep through to Year 8, children are given opportunities to lead and serve the school community.

In the Pre Prep, pupils act as energy monitors and are responsible for ensuring that lights and computers are switched off when they leave the classroom.

All children in Year 8 are Prefects which gives them an opportunity to develop their leadership skills. The pupils have specific responsibilities and duties to undertake during the school day and act as role models to the younger children. The Prefects lead structured Buddy sessions each term with children in Years 3 to 6 and they may be invited to take on a mentoring role. Pupils who excel as Prefects are appointed as House Captains during the Michaelmas and Lent terms.

St Faith’s has a School Council, made up of pupils who are elected by their peers in Years 7 and 8. The School Council representatives act as a voice for the children. Under the guidance of a member of staff, they play a key role in implementing new initiatives. They have established a ‘Trust Fund’ which can be used to respond to any disaster in the world.
