Naomi joined St. Faith’s in 1996 to start Year 3, having arrived from an international school in Belgium.
Having been given just three weeks’ notice that they needed to move back to the UK, my parents did not have a huge amount of time to find a new school and we had to visit a number over the course of just a few days. In the relative chaos of moving so quickly, I am reliably informed that St Faith’s went to great lengths to accommodate our tight time schedule and even made logistical adjustments for the admissions test. For my part, I just remember how warm and friendly St Faith’s felt when we looked around and being excited about its extensive programme of extra-curricular activities. That warm and friendly atmosphere has turned out to be an enduring characteristic of the school.
St Faith’s made the transition from Belgium seamless. It then supported and challenged me in equal measure, and I have very fond memories of lessons at St Faith’s being engaging, lively and varied. I also really enjoyed playing music and sport for the school, particularly netball and athletics. Competing in the National Prep School Athletics Championships was a real highlight.
In 2000, I moved to St Mary’s. St Faith’s had given me a strong academic foundation on which to build and I found that I was ahead in several subjects when I arrived, particularly in Latin, French and Science. In 2007, I went to Newnham College, Cambridge where I read Law and continued to play netball.
After graduating from Cambridge in 2010, I spent some time working and travelling before I completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP, London. I qualified as a solicitor in 2014 and I am now an Associate in the Investigations, Financial Regulation and White Collar practice of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in London.
