Sir Michael Morpurgo

On Friday 7 July, St Faith’s had the great honour of welcoming Sir Michael Morpurgo as guest speaker at its Speech Day. Sir Michael has a long running history with St Faith’s having been Head of English here in 1968 and opening the Discovery Zone in 2002. He took time to talk to the prize winners and had the entire marquee captivated with his wonderful speech. It really was a Speech Day to remember. In addition, our outgoing Year 8 pupils raised £2688 for Sir Michael’s charity Farms for City Children via their £5 Charity Challenge and from the retiring collection at the Year 8 production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last term.
