Children aged four to five years old are members of the Foundation Year.

Our Foundation Year curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Guidance. We want every child to have the very best start, so we have created a fun-filled, caring and stimulating environment where they are encouraged to explore, investigate and communicate about their discoveries and the world around them.

The Foundation curriculum has seven areas of learning and development that shape the educational experiences for our children. It emphasises exploration, investigation, discovery and problem solving. The prime areas of the Foundation Curriculum; Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal Social and Emotional Development are strengthened through the addition of Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

We believe that children learn best through first-hand experiences, when they are actively involved and interested. Our experienced and qualified staff plan together to provided activities tailored to meet the needs of individuals, appropriately supplying thought provoking questions to foster deep thinking skills. In addition, Music and Spanish are introduced and taught by specialist teachers.
